What is NEO-RLS E-mail Hosting?
NEO-RLS can provide your library with e-mail accounts using your library's domain name; for example: user_name@yourlibrary.lib.oh.us If your library owns some other domain name, such as a yourlibrary.org, that name can be used instead.
How would I access my e-mail?
You could access your e-mail through a web interface provided by NEO-RLS, or by using a program such as Outlook, Netscape's e-mail feature, Eudora, etc. (in technical terms, any POP or IMAP client).
Is there any protection from e-mail-born viruses?
Yes, there is some protection. Certain types of e-mail attachments are know to carry viruses (.exe, .dll, etc.); any incoming message with these types of attachment are deleted.
What kind of names can we use?
You can use any names you want, subject to the following criteria: User names must:
- start with a letter;
- be no more than 32 characters long (to the left of the @ sign);
- include only letters (lower case only), numerals, periods, underscores, and hyphens.
Here are some examples of valid user names:
- mary.stewart
- kingst
- maryjane.smith-jones2
- johnveryveryveryverylonglastname
How much does it cost?
$150 per year for 10 accounts and 500 MB of disk space
What if we need e-mail groups?
You can set up groups in an individual's mail environment, but if you want centrally-managed e-mail distribution lists you'll need to purchase NEO-RLS Listserv Hosting.
