Playstation2 Game Circuit
To help NEO libraries adapt in their collection development to meet the needs of an ever-changing materials market, NEO has developed a Playstation2 Game Circuit. This circuit will allow participating libraries to load balance the investment cost amongst participating libraries and leverage buying power for purchasing video games for circulation. The yearly will cost for this circuit will be $300 for member libraries and $600 for nonmember libraries, and each circuit Kit will consist of 10 Playstaion2 games. Depending on the size of your library, you may choose to have more than one kit circuit. For example, a library with multiple branches may purchase a kit circuit for each location at $300 each for member libraries and $600 each for nonmember. The circuit Kits will rotate between libraries every 3 months with a stop at NEO in-between for cleaning/title replacement, and to contain shipping costs participating libraries must be on US Cargo for Delivery. The Games in the kits will be a mix of titles ranging in ratings from E – Everyone to M - Mature and is at the discretion of the individual libraries what titles they do or do not circulate from a kit.
Participating libraries will be responsible for the replacement of titles lost or damaged by their patrons, at a cost of $50 per title. A new unopened exact copy with no charge may also replace damaged or missing title. Items not received by NEO-RLS by 4 weeks after the return of the kit will be considered lost and charged as so. Libraries are prohibited from labeling or marking the titles in any permanent way, or circulating these items via interlibrary loan.
If your library is interested in this service or would like more information, contact Rose Marie Pecchio at the NEO-RLS office (pecchior@neo-rls.org).
