Call for Panelists

In celebration of Read Across America 2023, the ALA Committee on Literacy is seeking to host two webinars on March 14, 2023, highlighting the work of librarians who are facilitating creative, inclusive, innovative programs and projects for Read Across America. Presenters interested in speaking on this webinar panel should submit a description of their featured program by January 15 for priority selection. Programs should demonstrate representation of diverse experiences and backgrounds in ways that humanize people, stories, and experiences across cultures, class, religions, abilities, gender, etc. The committee is particularly interested in highlighting programs that demonstrate collaboration between school and public libraries, promote intergenerational sharing opportunities, or support family and community literacy.

To accommodate the schedules of teachers and K-12 library workers, two separate panels are being arranged. One panel presentation/discussion will be facilitated by members from Eastern/Central time zones. A second panel presentation/discussion will be facilitate later, on the same day, by members from Mountain/Pacific time zones. All are welcome to attend both webinars.
