ATTN: Youth Services

Registration is now open for Take 5: Let’s Talk About It, Friday, May 6, from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (doors open 9:00) at Columbus Metropolitan Library, 96 S. Grant Ave., Columbus.

Join other teen advocates for a day of creative approaches, new ideas, collaboration, and network-building. We haven’t been together in the same place in years. SO much has happened. Let’s take a day together to reimagine teen services, exercise our resilience, take care of and empower each other. And, let’s talk about it! This year’s event will feature:

  • Speakers including Columbus-based author, artist, filmmaker, educator and mentor Donte Woods-Spikes and Jackie Calderone, founding director of multidisciplinary youth arts and mentoring program TRANSIT ARTS.
  • “Ask Us Anything!” expert panel
  • “Let’s Talk About It” small group discussion and networking
  • Vision Boards, brain breaks, and more
  • Lunch provided by Freedom A La Cart (vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available)
Registration for Take 5 is only $30/person, which includes lunch, morning refreshments, materials, and parking.

Help set the agenda for Take 5! The registration form includes an (optional) opportunity to share aspirations and challenges. Your stories will guide the small group discussion section of Take 5. There is also an opportunity to suggest questions for our expert panel of new and seasoned teen services librarians. Please consider contributing a story and/or a question when you register, thank you!
