The Ohioana Library Association, which collects, preserves, and celebrates Ohio literature, is presenting the 2021 Ohioana Book Festival from April 22 through 25.

As we did last year, we decided to present the festival virtually to keep everyone safe as we continue to fight the pandemic. Thanks to technology, we will still be able to share all the things people have come to love about the festival: panel discussions, conversations, and readings. There will be story times and activities for children. And an online book fair.

This year marks the festival's 15th anniversary, which has grown from ten authors and a few hundred attendees in 2007 to become the state's largest event dedicated to Ohio literature. Nearly 140 Ohio authors and illustrators are participating in the festival, among them Funky Winkerbean cartoonist Tom Batiuk, who has designed the official anniversary poster, pictured here.

Other authors include National Book Award and NAACP Image Award winner Jacqueline Woodson, Goosebumps creator R.L. Stine, essayist David Giffels, New York Times best-selling novelist Curtis Sittenfeld, and Ohio's new Poet Laureate, Kari Gunter-Seymour. The complete list of authors can be found at this link:

We will be providing updates on our website, www.ohioana.org, and on our Facebook and Twitter pages. A complete schedule of festival programming will be released next Friday.
