Creating Pathways to Civil Legal Justice
In March 2021, WebJunction will host a free, three-week learning group facilitator training. In this live-online course, participants will receive training on how to guide peer learning groups through the Creating Pathways to Civil Legal Justice (CPCLJ) series of self-paced courses.

The Facilitator Training will prepare you to provide the structure and support that will enhance learning for group members as you lead learners through the CPCLJ self-paced course series. This training is great for anyone passionate about learning with others to augment the role libraries can play in access to justice issues.

Leap Into Science (LIS)
Ohio was selected through a competitive application process to join the 3rd cohort of the nationwide Leap Into Science (LIS) program network.  LIS was developed by The Franklin Institute Science Museum and it integrates open-ended science activities with children’s books, designed especially for children ages 3-10 along with their families.  This program empowers educators to offer workshops in community settings like libraries, museums, and out-of-school time programs to engage underserved audiences both in-person as well as in virtual settings.  LIS is funded by the National Science Foundation, and led by The Franklin Institute and The National Girls Collaborative Project.

You are invited to submit an application to join this national network for science and literacy.  Up to 40 organizations serving primarily urban or rural populations will be prioritized for inclusion to be in alignment with grant specifications and applications received by February 15th will also be given priority consideration.  Selected organizations who participate in the LIS program will receive a program kit containing all program materials ($300 value), curriculum, training, and ongoing support.  LIS training and workshops have been adapted for virtual implementation during the pandemic.

Selected partner organizations in turn agree to send a minimum of 2 staff members to an upcoming virtual training*, and to schedule and lead at least 3 workshops directly for children and families by September 2021.  Visit the Leap Into Science website for more information about this program.  *Note, this is NOT a train the trainer model – staff that complete training can only offer workshops directly to children & families, not train additional coworkers.
