FREE News Literacy Instruction Workshop for Ohio Librarians

Thanks to a grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), awarded by the State Library of Ohio, the workshop will be offered free of charge to Ohio librarians, but space is limited. Participants will be asked to answer pre- and post-workshop surveys, and may be asked to provide a sample artifact of news media literacy practice (activity, assignment, lesson plan, slide deck, etc.) they are using now, and to submit a new or revised artifact after the workshop to help us assess the impact of the workshop and improve future workshops.
This workshop is being offered through the cooperation of Cleveland State University’s Michael Schwartz Library and The University of Akron University Libraries with news media literacy expert Michael Spikes of Northwestern University.  Watch for more information coming soon.
