Program Name: 50+ and Lovin It Series: Adult Programming on a Shoestring Program Date: 05/08/2012 Program Time: 1:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. Speaker: Jennifer Baker, director of the St. Helena Public Library in California Program Description: Jennifer Baker, director of the St. Helena Public Library in California will share how her library went from offering no adult programs to adult programs up to five times a week, with little budget, no dedicated space, no volunteer coordinator, and no new staff. Included will be why the library made adult programming a priority and how it changed the landscape and vision of library services in the community. The program will cover challenges encountered, including getting stakeholder buy-in, creating new program formats, & learning the art of promotion. Get ideas, hear real-life accounts, and ask questions about how to start from scratch, revamp, or tweak your adult programs.
